Translator's notes: [1] Otemoyan is the title of a Kyushu (the area of Japan Ringo is 'from') song. The title is the nickname of a young girl.
[2] A nurarihyon is a type of youkai/bakemono, or Japanese ghost.
[3] Yattaman/Yatterman is an anime series by Tatsunoko Production.
[4] Nishi-kasai is a stop on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line.
[5] Musician Keiichi Sokabe, vocalist for the band Sunny Day Service.
[6] Musician Kenji Furuya, vocalist/guitarist for the band Dragon Ash.
[7] Musician Joe Okuda.
[8] Musician Mukai Shutoku, of Number Girl and Zazen Boys (bands Ringo has been fans of/performed with).
