| Noudouteki Sanpunkan / An Active Three Minutes Noudouteki Sanpunkan single, Sports
Info: Ezaki Glico "Watering Kiss Mint" gum CM song. Translation notes: [1] "Sunday driver" is a term from the era of the six-day work/school week in Japan (Monday through Saturday, with only Sunday fully off), which has mostly been replaced with a five-day Monday-Friday work/school week nowadays, referring to drivers who only got the chance to drive their cars on Sunday, their one free day. [2] "Paper driver" is a term referring to a person who has a driver's license but does not drive. [3] "Onshin byoudou" is a term I've chosen to translate as "equality among friends and foes" that refers to the concept that you should have equal sympathy both for enemies who hate you and those close to you who love you alike, from a place of great compassion and mercy. In Japan it is mostly used at war memorials for the dead meant to honor both allies and enemies as equal victims. back to Ringo Shiina |
