[3] Ochanomizu - a stop on the Marunouchi Tokyo subway line (Ginza and Ikebukuro are also Marunouchi stops). Also, Ochanomizu Station is very close to a shopping strip which is home to many guitar shops, and is the place where a lot of young Tokyo musicians go to buy their first guitar.
[4] Marshall - brand of her amplifier
[5] Rat - her PROCO brand distortion pedal - her ’zine “RAT” is also named after this
[6] Benzie - nickname of one of her idols, Asai Kenichi (of Blankey Jet City, Sherbets, and Ajico)
[7] Korakuen - a music hall in the Tokyo Dome and a Marunouchi line stop
[8] pizza place girl - Shiina Ringo had worked part time at a pizza place before she made it big. She was likely inspired (both in her choice of workplace and in writing this song lyric) by a line in Blankey Jet City's song "Pink no Wakai Buta" which mentions a "pizaya no kanojo" (pizza place girl).
[9] Gretsch - Asai Kenichi’s guitar
[10] The line “ao kande itte choudai” (Blue bite it and come for me) is a play on words - aokan is slang for “outdoor sex” and “outdoor prostitution,” and “iku (itte)” means “come” (reach orgasm)
