I torn out my favorite page
from inside my favorite picture book
It’s always in my chest pocket so I can reread it at any time
The part where the cowardly dog starts his journey

He cut his chain for the sake of the one who gave him unconditional love

What is left of my favorite picture book
is a lonely story of all help being lost
So there’s just torn-off hopes in my chest pocket
no different from loneliness

Upon losing my place, the ongoing journeys will just wander about

Hey, look at me, come back here

I think your kind of strength, which my weak self
can never permit, is beautiful

When I replaced the page I’d torn
from my favorite picture book
Because both joy and sadness were vividly noticeable
I cried unconditionally, and after I cried
A story where I set off at your side
In the journey this time, we’ll go even farther
together, to somewhere far, yet close by [1]

Translator's notes: [1] E.g., they'll go into a book together: travel to faraway lands while staying in the same place.
Maaya's liner notes: If it’s for your smiling face, I will. (Translated by roxfan)
